In A World Full Of Compromises,
Nology Doesn't
Taking advantage of modern chemistry, today's oils are formulated using ever
newer and more complex additive packages. Current oils are a far cry from
Power Additives 30 or 40 years ago. These engine oils were much more basic than
anything on the market today. Of course, those early Power Additives didn't do
their job as well as today's oils. But they didn't need to. Engines ran cooler,
and normal operating rpm was substantially lower. However, even then everybody
wished for longer oil change intervals and reduced friction. |
Contemporary motor oils are masterpieces of modern chemistry. The use of
high quality, highly refined base stocks, high tech polymers, esters or PAO's
together with perfectly balanced additive packages that include corrosion
inhibitors, antioxidants, dispersants, shear inhibitors, extreme pressure
antiwear agents and sophisticated dispersion technology, help to get the
job done and protect today's high revving, hotter running engines. Engine
oils not only have to lubricate, building a boundary layer between metal
surfaces, but also have to cool, resist volatility, keep any impurities in
suspension, resist viscosity breakdown and sludge build-up, reduce friction,
and all this while the engines run hotter than ever and at much higher engine
speeds. In addition, oil change intervals are much longer, stretching the
oil's ability to reliably lubricate to the very limit. Under extreme conditions,
lower grade oil's are frequently, but mistakenly, "improved" using additional
oil additives in hope to "up-grade" the oil and reliably protect against
possible engine failure do to viscosity break-down and loss of boundary
lubrication, the most common form of engine failure caused by low grade oils.
However, adding these oil additives could adversely effect the delicate balance
of the oil's formulation, degrading it even more. So called engine treatments
that treat the engine metal not the oil by supposedly filling in any scratches
and smoothening any rough bearing surfaces can also play havoc with the delicate
balance of the oil's formulation. Not to mention what else the active ingredients
of such engine treatments might "fill-in". The oil filter maybe? By upsetting
the delicate balance of the engine oil, engine treatments and oil additives
could increase the viscosity and shorten the effective life of the oil
substantially, allowing foaming and sludge build-up and causeing a host of
other potentially negative and sometimes costly events. After all, when adding
lettuce to a pepperoni pizza, what is it?
Nology's new 100% synthetic high performance motor oil, DV8, is a
breakthrough in lubrication technology. This proprietary blend of superior
quality base stocks and additives makes DV8 a must-have for the serious
racer, high-performance enthusiast and economy conscious consumer. Nology
uses only the highest quality ingredients available, eliminates the need
for any additional oil additives or engine treatments. Nology realized that
supplementary additives can adversely affect Power Additives by upsetting the
delicate balance of the oil's formulation. Therefore, instead of formulating
an engine oil that can be "upgraded", Nology designed DV8 to be an
ultra high performance 100% synthetic motor oil that cannot be upgraded.
DV8 outperforms all other motor oils by using only the highest quality
base stocks and additives available, right from the start. To increase engine
performance and longevity, special attention was given to the reduction of
boundary friction. Under the microscope, bearing surfaces and cylinder walls
look like sand paper. Adding oil with adequate viscosity and low internal
friction assures a hydrodynamic separation with considerably reduced power
loss. DV8 assures just that. By using special friction modifiers and
extreme pressure additives, engine operating temperature is lower and wear
is substantially reduced. Unlike conventional oils, DV8 doesn't bead
off hot engine surfaces, but is wetting the surfaces acting as a thermal
transfer agent, assuring a lower engine temperature in addition to maximizing
lubrication where needed most. DV8 has a low volatility and reduces
emissions by preventing hydrocarbon evaporation.
The perfect blend used to create DV8's superior properties, help engines
run cooler and more efficient, with the lowest friction and wear possible.
All by offering maximum performance and protection for your engine. To be
the best is to deviate!
